THE DOWNVInD PROJECT IS STRUCTURED WITH SEVEN WORK GROUPS:

The seven Work Groups (WG1 to WG7) cover four types of activity:

WG1 to WG4 - RTD (Research & Technological Development)

• WG1 - Environment: The environmental, ecological & sociological effects of offshore windfarms.
• WG2 - Electrical: The advancement of technologies in wind turbine power generation; transmission & connection to the National Grid.
• WG3 - Operations & Maintenance: Improved operation and maintenance of offshore windfarms.
• WG4 - Wind Turbine & Substructure: Optimisation of the design, manufacture, installation & certification of wind turbines & their support structures in deepwater.

WG5 - Demonstrator

• The Demonstrator will test the technologies to verify the technical and commercial viability of a full-scale deepwater development.
