Project OBJECTIVE was to make
STEP CHANGE ADVANCES
in the TECHNIQUES, TECHNOLOGIES and PROCESSES
needed to ENABLE
DEVELOPMENT of LARGE CAPACITY WINDFARMS
OFFSHORE in DEEPWATER.
The DOWNVInD Project began in 2004 and was completed in mid September 2009. The project was coordinated by Talisman Energy (UK) Limited who were joint main funders with Scottish & Southern Energy. Other consortium members included utilities, research establishments, major contractors and specialist consultancies in offshore wind energy.
DOWNVInD incorporated the Beatrice Windfarm Demonstrator project.
