The DOWNVInD project budget was some €50 MILLION and duration 60 months from the start date of 14th September 2004.

Talisman Energy (UK) Limited and their principal partner Scottish and Southern Energy were the main funders of the project with the other consortium members making contributions pro-rata to their role.

DOWNVInD was also supported by the European Community as an Integrated Project and was allocated up to €6 Million from the EC “Sixth Framework for Technology Development” Programme.

Funding contributions of £3 Million each were also be provided by the UK DTI New & Renewables Energy Programme and the Scottish Executive Renewable Energy Development budget.

The DOWNVInD Project kicked off formally on September 14th 2004 for a 60 month duration. The RTD and Demonstration elements of the programme were conducted concurrently.
